“Everything deserves to be beautiful.”
Marley Aikhionbare is a Creative Director based in Long Beach, California.
Marley is a queer, disabled, artist-of-color from Southern California who has a love for “beautiful things.” All of their work centers on preservation and inclusion at the core; whether it is running a literary magazine to bolster the voices of marginalized and disabled creatives (The Kingfisher Magazine), designing graphics and merchandise to fund historic landmark preservation (Long Beach Conservancy), creating digital media content to boost donations and awareness for South Central youth services (A Place Called Home), customizing vintage clothing to be sensory-inclusive, or learning and, thus, preserving a dying art like hand-lettering (Bristol Farms). They aim to bring the slow, meticulous handiwork and beauty of old into the modern age in the name of sustainability and conservation.
Marley Aikhionbare (they/them) Founder and Editor-In-Chief of The Kingfisher Magazine.
